CHEROKEE BREWING COMPANY
When this 9,000 square foot restaurant and working brewery opened in 1996 it was one of Atlanta’s first brew pubs and had the capacity to produce and serve up to 5,000 barrels of beer a year.
The facility provides educational tours of the Brewing Room and a separate Founder’s Room is available for group functions. Other features include a 2,700 square foot landscaped dining patio and a 100 car parking lot.
The 700 square foot Brew Room is the heart of the facility. Located centrally on the site, its equipment and processes are visible through windows from the restaurant, bar, patio, and street. The copper-clad kettle and tanks are displayed under a gigantic brick arch. The effect was a display that served as an advertisement for the restaurant, but also a theater in which the patrons participated i
The Entry Vestibule, a circular reception room with solid brick walls and roof of radial timber framing, displayed the paintings of local artists. The exterior walls supported varieties of hops and flowering vines.
